This thesis explores the design of Architecture and Design School in Soorajmal Vihar, Delhi as proposed by the Indraprastha(IP) University for their East Campus.
The campus will include University School of Architecture and Planning and University School of Design along with hostel and recreation facilities for students
and teachers, staff quarters. Further it will include a University School of Engineering (Civil) in its second phase.

Indraprastha (IP) University
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is first University established in 1998 by Govt. of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh
Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999. The University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section

12B of UGC Act.
It is a teaching and affiliating University with the explicit objective of facilitating and promoting 'studies, research and extension work in emerging areas of
higher education with focus on professional education, for example engineering, architecture, technology, management studies, medicine, pharmacy, nursing,
education, law, etc. and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields and other matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.'

West Campus, Dwarka
The current campus (West Campus) of IP University is located in Dwarka on a 60 acres site with 5 University Schools of Studies along with hostel facilities
for students as well as staff. The Dwarka Campus does not include the space for University School of Architecture and Planning (USAP). Temporarily, the ten
studios of USAP are distributed in the stilt floors of five university blocks in the campus. The faculty of architecture requires a new campus which is proposed in

Surajmal Vihar (East Campus).

The proposed east campus will include University School of Architecture and Planning (USAP) and a School of Design (USD) along with hostel facilities for
students and teachers, staff quarters and recrea-tional spaces. It will also include a School of Engineering in its second phase.
